Q - Why AV Jungle ?

A - Because Audio Visual can be a bit of a Jungle. We've spend years in Custom Install swinging from Vine to Vine - we've tested and evaluated loads of products, breaking a few on the way, and we felt it was time to share our knowledge with others and list products which we found to provide excellent value for money and most importantly, they work !!

Q - Sonos vs Squeezebox ?

A - Wow, we love both these products. Squeezebox were THE original streaming music company, the original Slimp3 was released around 8 years ago, and here at Jungle HQ we still have one of those original Slimp's in use most days. Sonos came from no where and Logitech (originally SlimDevices) have been playing catchup ever since. If you want an out of the box, near zero configuration, and always works streamer then Sonos is the one. Squeezebox is great, and some of there products are asthetically more pleasing - that Red Radio they do is sooo cool !!  Squeezebox is a little more geeky, it can require more configuration, but has many more features than Sonos offers. If you're looking to integrate into a home automation system, Squeezebox probably wins here too as their API is out there for anyone to interface with, and many have. Sonos have a closed system and dont publish an API, though very recently Philips have created modules for the Pronto 9600 and 9800, and Control4 customers can also now have full Sonos integration through a third party driver.
